The Important New Role Pharmacists Play in Providing Emergency Contraception


This On-Demand CPE is designed specifically to train pharmacists, technicians and pharmacy students to participate in a program that provides emergency contraception (EC) to patients in a pharmacy setting.

At the completion of this activity the participant will be able to:

    Review the latest literature on the effectiveness of all emergency contraception options – including ulipristal acetate
    Assess the effect of a patient’s weight / BMI on the effectiveness of emergency contraception – and the decisions to choose one product over another
    Propose a new role that pharmacists and techs can play in making OTC contraception more financially accessible to patients

In order to receive credit you must view the video and answer the questions on line. In order to receive credit you must get a score of at least 70% correct responses. If you do not achieve 70% or better, you will be allowed to take 3 retakes. If you pass with a 70%, you will receive a certificate for the didactic and the CE will be uploaded to the CPE Monitor within a few days.
