2008 Northwest Pharmacy Convention
Join pharmacy professionals from all over the Pacific Northwest May 29 - June 1 for the 2008 Northwest Pharmacy Convention at the Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The convention offers the best in professional networking opportunities, continuing education and social activities.
This year, we made a few changes to the agenda to make the experience even better. Friday's activities will start with the Golf Classic and end with a gourmet buffet dinner inside the Exhibit Hall to maximize your time networking with suppliers. On Saturday, attendees from all states will gather together for a lavish Evening Gala, which includes entertainment and dancing.
From useful exhibits to important continuing education courses and worthwhile networking opportunities, the 2008 Northwest Pharmacy Convention has it all!

Exhibit and Pharmacy Practice Poster Session
With more than 70 exhibits, you will find a comprehensive display of the latest innovative products and services available today for pharmacy practice. Talk with experts and see the latest in everything essential to pharmacy. The Exhibit Hall will be open Friday from 3:00p-8:30p and includes the Pharmacy Practice Poster Session. Don't miss the Friday night dinner in the Exhibit Hall, which provides a great opportunity to visit all the exhibit booths.
Support Student Involvement
For only $200 you can welcome ISU, WSU, UM, or UW pharmacy students into our profession by sponsoring their attendance at the 2008 Northwest Convention. Your gift will help defray the cost of student accommodations, meals and registration. As a Student Sponsor, you will receive a distinguished ribbon with your name badge noting your special contribution, and you will receive acknowledgment in the official convention program (deadline May 1) and in the summer issue of Washington Pharmacy. If you know of a student attending this year's convention who you would like to sponsor, you'll find an area on the registration form to specify. If you aren't able to sponsor a student in full, smaller donations of any size toward the student fund are deeply appreciated.
Continuing Education The CE programming is directed at pharmacists practicing in various healthcare settings including independently owned community pharmacies, hospitals, chain drugstores, clinics, long-term care, industry, health insurance plans and academia. Participants can obtain over 15 hours of ACPE accredited continuing education choosing from a selection of more that 40 total credit hours. Welcome Reception Kick off the conference at the welcome reception Thursday at 7:30 pm. Eat, drink and be merry with colleagues, family, students, and exhibit representatives.
Annual Golf Classic Ante up with the challenge of Coeur d'Alene's premium golf course. Complete with the world's only floating green, this course provides the perfect backdrop for the Annual Golf Classic. Please join us Friday morning. Our NPC2008 discounted green fees are only $135 include lunch, prizes and golf carts. That is a savings of $85 off their normal green fees. You must preregister for this event.
Alumni Receptions Find out about your alma mater's current activities and talk with students currently attending your pharmacy school. Alumni Receptions are Saturday, prior to the Leadership Banquet from 5:30 -7 PM. Check the appropriate box on the registration form to sign up.
Gala Dinner Saturday night from 7 - 10:30 pm, all of the states will gather for a scrumptious sit-down dinner, which includes entertainment and dancing.
Farewell Barbecue After the day's CE classes, fill up on delicious food and enjoy the lakeside scenery at this informal barbecue. Lunch will be served Sunday from 1-2 pm.
Pharmacy Practice Poster Session
Call for Abstracts You are invited to share your research, innovative programs, expertise and experience with your peers in this poster presentation format. This is an excellent opportunity to meet, share and network with colleagues throughout, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Posters presented at the Northwest Pharmacy Convention will be judged by a panel for content, presentation, and importance to the future practice of pharmacy. The posters will be on display in the Exhibit Hall during exhibit hours on Friday May 30th from 3:00pm-9pm.

In order to qualify for the Awards of Distinction, each poster must have one person registered at the Convention who is responsible for answering questions regarding the poster. Posters will be judged during the Exhibit hours. Poster presenters are encouraged but not required to stop by to answer questions.
Set-up specifics:
· The Poster Session is located in Bay 6 of the Exhibit Hall (Bays 3-6) · Set-up time will be Friday, May 30th from 9am-2pm · Poster boards are 4' tall x 8' wide · Authors are responsible for bringing their own display materials (i.e. double stick tape or Velcro tabs) to mount and set up poster. Note: Push pins do not work on these poster boards · Authors are encouraged to provide handout materials relating to their papers. · Poster take-down time is from 8-10 am on Saturday, May 31st. The WSPA is not responsible for posters not removed by 10:00 am.
Posters will be evaluated individually based on the type of work and their scores will be compared to posters within the same Practice Category.

Awards of Distinction will be presented in the following Practice Categories: · All Pharmacists including Pharmacy Residents · Student Pharmacists and Technicians*
*if a Student Pharmacist or Technician is the primary author, the poster will be judged in the Student Pharmacist and Technician Section.
Winners in each category will receive one complimentary registration to the 2009 Northwest Pharmacy Convention meeting (up to $250).
Each poster will be assigned a number prior to the Convention and designated into a category, Pharmacist/Pharmacy Resident OR Student Pharmacist/ Pharmacy Technician.
We will contact you by May 16th to let you know if your poster has been accepted to be displayed at the Northwest Convention. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. Thank you.
