Deaths from opioid drug overdose plague our communities. Patient administered naloxone for the prevention of opioid overdose is a public health tool to prevent these deaths. This training will review the important elements to teach patients about identifying a drug overdose, giving assistance, and administering naloxone. This training will allow pharmacist to be added to a state collaborative drug therapy agreement for patient administered naloxone.
