Summary
Gather all stakeholders who interface or handle hazardous drugs from the loading dock and storeroom, to the admixture area, any transport personnel, administration area, and disposal of hazardous waste. Design a workflow pattern that minimizes any possibility of exposure to sources outside this area, and create a culture of how all stakeholders can protect not just themselves, but the entire group of co workers and their environment.

Objectives:
1. Identify all potential hazardous drug touch points for exposure through entire chain of custody of drug from loading dock through disposal.
2. Identify the appropriate PPE specific to preparing and administering hazardous drugs.
3. Define the proper ways to clean up chemo spills under and over 50 mls. and utilize the 2 step process of hydrogen peroxide followed by sodium thiosufate for weekly decontamination of chemo prep area.
4. Develop a hazardous waste disposal plan, including proper segregation of trace and bulk chemo, frequency of disposal, and education of housekeeping in this area, including proper compliance with PPE while handling HD waste disposal.
