Evaluate the various routes of BHRT administration - topical, sublingual and oral therapy
Discuss the appropriate labs to monitor BHRT outcomes
Discuss the appropriate symptoms to follow for optimal BHRT outcomes
Given a patient case decide which therapy is most appropriate

Presenter: Andy Ruiz, PHARMD, MSC, FACA COO/PRINCIPLE, is the Chief Operations Officer and Partner at Stongegate Pharmacies, Stonegate Pharmacy, Stonegate Pharmacy at the Village and Stonegate Pharmacy at Westlake. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, Adjunct Assistant Professor for Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, and faculty preceptor for Incarnate Word University Feik School of Pharmacy. Andy is also a Fellow of the American College of Apothecaries. He currently serves of the Board of IACP and IACP Foundation and serves at the Foundation's Research Committee Chair. Andy attended the University of Texas at Austin for 2 year prior entering the UT-Austin College of Pharmacy where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy in 2008. After completion of his Doctor of Pharmacy, Andy helped design and implement the first combined Master of Science in Pharmacy and Community Pharmacy Residency. He was also the first trainee of his ASHP accredited residency. A fter completion of the combined Master of Science/Residency Program, Andy joined an independent pharmacy in San Antonio, Texas where he was the Wellness Director and Pharmacist-is-Charge of their closed door specialty and home infusion pharmacy. In May of 2011, Andy moved to Austin, Texas and joined Texas Compounding Pharmacy. In January 2012, Andry moved to Stonegate Pharmacy and assumed his current position as business partner and Pharmacist-in-Charge. Andy is responsible for developing Stongegate Pharmacy's professional services.Andy is currently a member of the National Community Pharmacist Association (NCPA), Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA), American College of Apothecaries (ACA), Alliance of Independent Pharmacists of Texas (AIP), and The International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP). Andy is also active in research and his current research is focused on the saftey and efficacy of various routes of administration for Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy in menopausal women. He hopes to start a new study on the ulitity of sublingual hormone replacement therapy.
