It is time to register for Technician Day CE. The CE’s earned at Tech Day will be reported to CPE monitor and NABP. Be sure to have your NABP e-profile number as you will need it to register for this event.  We tried to keep the cost as minimal as possible. If you are not a member of either SPA or WSPA, we recommend you become a member first. Then sign up for the Tech Day. Listed below are the websites to join either Association.

CE Information & Requirements:

In order to receive credit, you need to Complete and turn in an Evaluation as well as the Statement of Attendance at the end of the conference. For each activity attended, please write the activity code next to its title on the statement of attendance to verify your participation. The code will be provided at the end of each session. Make sure that we have your NABP e-profile ID and birth date (MMDD). This is required to process CE. If you need to verify your number or have not yet registered for one, please visit www.MyCPEMonitor.net.

The CPE needs to be uploaded to the CPE monitor within 60 days of the conference. WSPA will send you a confirmation email once the CE has been upload. This will be completed within 45 days of the event.

·         Describe the etiology and significance of cancer pain

·         Explain the expected outcomes to a given therapeutic modality in terms of response and toxicity

·         State the difference in treating cancer pain as opposed to other types of acute and chronic pain

·         Recognize adverse reactions associated with treatment of pain

·         Discuss supportive care issues including the treatment of neutropenia, anemia and chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting

·         Discuss Mental Illnesses and the treatment

·         Identify ways to make a difference in the lives of the patients with mental illness

 

Mental health is a part of our patients and our own lives. Pharmacy and medications play a large role in treatment of mental illnesses. Learn how we can make a difference in the lives of our patients.

At the completion of this program, the Technician will be able to:

·         Describe USP 797 in general terms and know what the Pharmacy Commission checklist is, where to find it, and how it is applicable to their practice.

·         List the 2015 legislative additions relevant to pharmacy and how they apply to the technician’s individual practice.

·         Briefly describe 5 rules in progress and how to participate in those if desired.

·         Determine if their practice setting is complying with some common rules that are misunderstood or commonly missed during an inspection.

·         Be able to file a complaint and understand the disciplinary process.


This CE will provide a brief summary of USP 797 as it applies to pharmacy technicians and introduce the Pharmacy Commission checklist. It will also provide the 2015 legislative statutes relevant to pharmacy technicians. Eleanor will discus 5 rules in progress and what they cover. She will also review some current rules that are commonly misunderstood or missed on an inspection and the complaint and discipline process.
