The Department of Justice (DOJ) through the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Labor (DOL) has implemented an aggressive civil and criminal enforcement strategy against compounding pharmacies, pharmacies, physicians and marketing groups. The DOJ has been interviewing, seizing the assets of pharmacies and marketing companies and commencing grand jury investigations related to TRICARE and DOL pharmacy prescription billings.

4. Discuss Department of Labor audits of pharmacies
This is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians.

Brian E. Dickerson is a partner at FisherBroyles LLP where he focuses his practice on complex litigation and regulatory matters defending clients against government actions, administrative proceedings and parallel civil and criminal proceedings. Mr. Dickerson litigates complex health care fraud, including anti-kickback, stark law and false claims cases related to Tricare, Department of Labor, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as pharmacy billing, pharmacy benefits manager disputes, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters throughout the U.S.
