How to Write a Case Report

Summary
Dr. Stephanie Phelps, PharmD, BCPS will conduct a 1-hour knowledge based continuing education webinar to provide participants with an understanding of the publication process within the context of authoring or reviewing a case report.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1) Describe the publication process.
2) If given a case report, identify strength and weaknesses of the information included in the case.
3) Understand the components of a case report that makes it a successful publication.
4) Be able to serve as a reviewer of a case report for a biomedical journal.


This is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists.

PPAG has accredited this knowledge-based webinar for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit for pharmacists. PPAG is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Presenter: Tracy Hagemann, Pharm.D., FCCP, FPPAG
Stephanie J. Phelps, PharmD, BCPS is currently a professor of clinical pharmacy and pediatrics at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the College of Pharmacy. She is an elected of ACCP, APhA, and PPAG. She is also a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. Over the years, she has received awards from ACCP, APhA, PPAG, and The University of Tennessee Alumni Association. Dr. Phelps has also received numerous teaching awards from students at UTHSC. During her career, she has participated in the education of 5 post-doctoral fellows and over 70 pediatric pharmacy residents. She is editor of The Teddy Bear Book: Pediatric Injectable Drugs and has published over 100 manuscripts, book chapters, and reviews that focus on pediatric pharmacotherapy.

How To Attend
Join the live program from your office, home, or hotel room using a computer for the web portion and telephone for the audio portion. You may ask questions, participate in surveys, and post comments from your computer during the program. You may also invite colleagues to watch the program from a shared computer or projection screen and speakerphone. Please note that credit (if available) is only provided to registered attendees participating at their own computer and phone.
