WASHINGTON PHARMACISTS ARE IN JEOPARDY OF LOSING THEIR CCRx MTM OPPORTUNITIES!!!! 
 
ALL CCRx MTM CASES WITH A DUE DATE PRIOR TO September 20, 2007 MUST BE DELIVERED, DOCUMENTED, AND BILLED BY OCTOBER 31, 2007.

                                            

According to information provided to WSPA by Community CCRx/Mirixa, pharmacies that fail to meet this deadline will lose these MTM cases.

The cases will not be reassigned to other pharmacies, nor will they be completed by the University of Arizona Call Center or reassigned to WSPA. Patients will simply get a letter stating that they will not be able to receive MTM services for the 2007 year. Remember, Community CCRx/Mirixa is required to comply with CMS Medicare Part D requirements and needs our assistance to continue this important patient service.

 

Every contracted pharmacy should work to complete all of their currently assigned MTM cases by November 30, 2007.

 

 

We are all very busy but this is extremely important! We absolutely need to take advantage of this opportunity to prove that our knowledge and services are critical to the care of our patients and we should be paid to provide them. WSPA urges all pharmacists to take the time to complete your CCRx patient cases so that we don’t lose this opportunity; however, should special circumstances prevent you from complying with this deadline, please contact WSPA to assist you in finding other willing pharmacists to make these calls for you.

(June 5, 2007) – Community MTM Services, Inc. today unveiled its new corporate name, Mirixa, and simultaneously announced the availability of an expanded array of clinical information technologies that power Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and consumer health services through its network of over 40,000 pharmacies nationwide.

Your CCRx Medicare Part D Patients May Qualify for MTM in 2007
In the last few months of 2006, you may have heard that CCRx Medicare Part D Plan had identified some of your patients who qualified for MTM services. We had until December 31, 2006, to provide them services. If you were unable to provide your patients MTM services, they were referred to a University of Arizona Call Center to receive these services.  

A new group of patients will be identified for MTM Polypharmacy MTM Reviews in 2007. CCRx has already begun identifiing the patients who qualify and already obtain prescriptions at your pharmacy over the next year. Using the same system as last year, CCRx will utilize Mirixa, formerly Community MTM, as a Web-based communications service to conduct, document, and bill for patient care services.
 
If you are already contracted with Community Care Rx and have your Mirixa username and password, click on the link to access your cases in Mirixa. You are ready to begin providing MTM to your CCRx patients!
 
If you are NOT contracted with CCRx, follow the link on the CCRx.net page to access the simple online contracting process. There is no charge to pharmacies to contract with Mirixa!

• For Training and Support go to http://mirixa.com/training/
• To get started, click on the link “Pharmacies” in the upper left corner of the page 
• At the bottom of the page you will see directions on how to join the Mirixa Pharmacy Net

It is crucial that we take advantage of these opportunities to gain reimbursement for our services. The pharmacist’s role is medication management is the future of pharmacy practice and it is imperative that we are compensated for these valuable skills. If we don’t act now, someone else will! If you are NOT able to provide these MTM services to your patients by the end of the year, the WSPA can help! The WSPA is helping to match local consulting pharmacists with local pharmacies to help them provide MTM services to their patients.
