FAQ New Pharmacy Practice Rule

FAQ New Pharmacy Rules Implemented July 1, 2020

I’m not familiar with the document “regarding CDTAs versus protocols,” is that available somewhere on the website?
The pharmacist writing the prescription, who must be listed on the CDTA, is the one who signs the prescription (they do not sign the name of the prescriber (MD, DO, ARP, PA etc)) I believe and it is my understanding that the protocol is the agreement between the provider lending their prescriptive authority and the pharmacists receiving that authority on what the pharmacist can prescribe/conditions and for which patients and in what manner they will determine need for change or initiation of therapy.

Is it true that as of July 1, 2020 student pharmacists are no longer required to obtain an additional 300 intern hours outside their required institutional coursework?

How does the new CE hours work if someone has a birthday coming up in 2020?

The new CE rules do not go into effect until March 1, 2021. You will need to adhere to the current CE requirements.
