DOH Approved Suicide Awareness and Referral Training
Created Specifically for Pharmacy Professionals
in Partnership with Forefront Suicide Awareness

The Washington State Department of Health has approved WSPA and Forefront’s Suicide Awareness and Referral for Pharmacy Professionals. This three-hour training, developed by pharmacists and suicide experts from Forefront Suicide Prevention, explains suicide statistics and stigma, and provides tangible steps to prevent suicides. It is ACPE accredited. All Washington State-licensed pharmacists are required to take a DOH approved, three-hour minimum suicide awareness course prior to their 2018 renewal date. This program is a collaboration between WSPA and Forefront Suicide Prevention. It’s available to all pharmacy professionals, regardless of their WSPA membership.

Online Training:

Our comprehensive online training is ACPE approved for 3 hours. The online price is $45 for members and $90 for non-members.

There’s now a simple interface that jump starts learning after a short registration and payment process. WSPA members no longer need member discount codes, because the email associated with your membership automatically gives you the discount! Just select the course you would like to complete and click the “Register” button to get started.

Live Training:

These courses will be offered all over Washington in partnership with state associations, health systems, schools and pharmacies. This course is excellent in person, with opportunities to practice interventions and discuss this important topic with trainers and peers. Pricing is $75 for WSPA members and $125 for non-members.
You will find the live training sessions on the WSPA Calendar
